Hi Viewer,

Welcome to this blog. Kuranguputhur is a village located on the banks of the holy river Cauvery. It is a typical south Indian village with the true colors of Tanjore (or rather Delta district). It is located in the Nagappattinam district, and is just 8kms away from Poompuhar, where the river Cauvery submits her into the Bay of Bengal.

The village is full of its true colors and it never fails to provide the real cheer, joy, appreciation and of course, the real twists. Till today, agriculture is the soul business of this busy village. Paddy, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Green Dhal, Toor Dhal and Gingelly are grown season-after-season. It is a sad story now that a lot of farmers resort to casuarina due to resource issues.

As a person born in this beautiful village, I had grown up by enjoying the nativities of a village - plus - an art of learning science & technology. Being part of this village was sufficient enough to build my character.

It is a privilege to have links with this village even after a decade of living outside. It is our part now to give it back to the community which saw us come up with some character. This blog attempts to provide updates on what we have done to the village that supported us all along.

Keep Visiting....

With Love,
Pavai.
(A proud Kuranguputhuraan).

  3. Dear Shri Pavai,

Happen to bump into your blog while searching details about Kuranguputhur village. My forefathers are believed to be migrated from Kuraguputhur village to a village called Puthucode in Kerala. We were making a family tree and all these informations were shared by elders. We would like to explore more of our roots. Can you please help us in the same.

    Thanks and Regards
